Apex Group of Companies will be present at Drupa in Düsseldorf, Duitsland. At Stand no. 11B25 Apex will put its newest developments at display.

Special attention will be drawn to the "Genetic Transfer Technology", the revolutionary development for manufacturing UniCorr®, UniFlex® and UniCoat® metering rolls. The new technology effects the transfer of ink in a superior way to any traditional roll, due to a revolutionary roll surface. Neither the surface material (formerly pure ceramic), or the metering structure (formerly determined in lines per cm) can be compared with any current anilox technology. The results are remarkable, one roll will cover the print options of a number of different traditional anilox screens and a smoother, denser layer of inks on solid areas is a consequence, because of less air. Also the cleaning characteristics have improved greatly. Trials are constantly done with machine manufacturers and end users in all segments (Corrugated, Flexible Packaging, Offset/Coating) to further improve the product and its applications.

Apex introduces the new standard for anilox rolls in the narrow web industry, by establishing a new company dedicated to the label segment, Apex UniFli B.V. and also developing a new anilox roll named UniFli® (Uni-Fast Light Innovative). This special lightweight anilox roll has a body construction of anodyzed aluminium, as durable and accurate as steel. UniFli® is the unique new standard, only one-way deliveries are available against an attractive transparent price level. An efficient stock programme makes fast delivery times realizable.

Last but not least, Apex invested in the latest technology for identification of anilox rolls, by means of an RFID carrier. At the demand of the customer, anilox rolls will be fitted with a micro-chip, on which all relevant data will be stored. Thanks to the considerable memory of the carrier, these can vary from basic information (screen/volume specifications, date of production) to special data (date of installation, cleaning cycles, lifetime, etc).
